Expertise and Experience
Derek Rollins’ principal areas of practice are commercial and bankruptcy-related litigation (including adversary proceedings), with a special focus on automobile dealerships, financial institutions, and creditors’ rights. Mr. Rollins routinely represents retail and wholesale lenders (as well as loan servicing agents) and other businesses in a wide range of commercial disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country. Such disputes regularly involve claims for breach of contract, lender liability, claims under Texas’ Deceptive Trade Practice – Consumer Protection Act, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, interference, and claims relating to trade secrets and confidential information.

Mr. Rollins has been repeatedly selected, from 2007 through 2013, to appear on the Texas Rising Stars list prepared by Thomsons Reuters Legal. The Rising Star list is reserved for the top Texas attorneys who are 40 years of age or younger or who have been practicing law for less than 10 years. In this regard, Mr. Rollins has been recognized for his work in business litigation .

Fun Facts
Derek likes to spend his free time traveling with friends and family. He also enjoys playing Texas Hold ‘Em, which he says has proven useful for litigation matters. He also claims to be the biggest Parrothead in Texas – not only has he seen Jimmy Buffett more than 30 times, he joined the Margaritaville troubadour on-stage for a performance in Los Angeles.
