Will Parsons has been practicing law since 2007, when he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Will has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation before state and federal courts across the country. Will’s practice involves complex litigation matters, with a concentration on entertainment, intellectual property, and business issues. In particular, Will’s experience includes the following:

• Obtaining a $4 million jury verdict in favor of major recording artists in a lawsuit against their former record label in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois;

• Obtaining dismissal of a federal court defamation action against a Fortune 500 media company and successfully defending the dismissal on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth  Circuit;

• Representing an independent insurance broker in an accounting and breach of contract case against a major insurance company that resulted in a multi-million dollar trial verdict in the broker’s favor;

• Successfully defending at trial former sales representatives accused of unfair competition and failure to repay alleged business debts and obtaining a money judgment for the representatives on their counterclaims;

• Obtaining a 12(b)(6) dismissal of an action brought against the production company for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California;

• Prevailing at trial on counterclaims brought by a prominent songwriter arising out of a home renovation project and obtaining a judgment in excess of $200,000, including an award of attorney’s fees;

• Obtaining dismissal at arbitration of a claim brought against a major film aggregator by a former client;

• Obtaining a dismissal and award of attorney’s fees on behalf of a prominent recording artist, producer, and songwriter in an action brought by his former manager;

• Obtaining a judgment on behalf of a Canadian record company in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee for copyright infringement by an Italian record company;

• Acting as co-counsel for a major independent record label in state and federal lawsuits against a multiplatinum recording artist with respect to issues involving breach of contract, injunctive relief, conversion, and copyright infringement;

• Defending multiplatinum recording artists against a claim of copyright infringement in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee;

• Representing multiplatinum recording artists in a departing member dispute filed with the American Arbitration Association;

• Obtaining a default judgment in excess of a million dollars against an alleged record company in an action for fraud and violation of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act;

• Representing a gospel recording artist in a lawsuit filed by his ex-manager alleging breach of contract;

• Representing an underage recording artist and television actor in an action to approve certain contracts pursuant to the Tennessee Protection of Minor Performers Act;

• Acting as co-counsel in successful trial and appellate proceedings in a case involving a claim for an attorney’s lien in excess of $500,000;

• Representing a pro-wrestling organization in a lawsuit alleging breach of contract and disparagement against a former wrestler based upon social media postings;

• Acting as pro bono counsel for indigent clients in courts throughout Davidson County, Tennessee.
